My name is Calvin Bush, and I'm a sports journalist currently working in
ice hockey for the Chicago Steel of the United States Hockey League (USHL).
I've worked in the sports journalism and sports media industry for nine years, wearing a variety of different hats, including Public Address announcer, Graphic Designer/Video Manager, and a Play-by-Play broadcaster.
I have a proven track record of increasing social media followers and boosting website and video views. I have provided play-by-play and color commentary in a wide variety of sports for eight years. I am a great storyteller and excel at calling the fast-paced action of hockey.
I've worked in sports social media for six years and have an extensive background in using
X (Twitter), Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube. I've developed a strong knowledge of sports marketing and am comfortable using various social analytics tools, creating and maintaining social media calendars, and engaging with fans and users across different channels. I can quickly adapt to the desired voice a team wants on their social media feeds and develop witty, original content.
I've been writing sports content for six years in addition to my broadcasting and social media abilities. Writing is a passion, from game summaries to player-specific stories to weekend previews or opinion-based articles, and I enjoy talking about sports in any medium. I'm a critical thinker with a fantastic imagination and a team player, but I'm equally effective working alone. I love working with and around people. I strive to maintain a positive attitude, regardless of the situation, and my kindness and spontaneity naturally rub off on those around me.
